About the association

Why Power of Kindness was founded

Power of Kindness z. s. was founded as a continuation of help that had been running for some time. We are not starting from scratch — we are extending existing support for animals in need in Ukraine and giving it a transparent and long-term framework.

We organise the help from the Czech Republic and direct it where it is needed most: to food, veterinary care, operating supplies and other essential expenses related to caring for animals.

Our goal is for donations to reach the field as practically as possible and to help quickly, meaningfully and according to the current situation.

What our help is built on
  • We continue existing aid
  • We help as much as possible directly on site
  • We regularly track where donations go
Today our help is mainly directed here

Partner in Ukraine

A local base on which the help directly builds today

Our partner in the field is a Ukrainian organisation that grew out of home animal care and in recent years has taken on broader local help. The war brought evacuation, a new base, and significantly higher operational demands.

“We are a family originally from the Donetsk region. Because of the war we had to relocate to a safer part of Ukraine. Today we care for dogs and cats who, without this help, would often have nowhere to go.”

Even a small donation has a concrete meaning.

Who we help

We direct help to animals in need in connection with the war conflict in Ukraine, in practice mainly through partner work in the field (a shelter, foster care).

For security reasons we do not publish exact locations or operational details. General information about the association and its registration can be found on the page Basic information about the association.

Typically these are shelters and smaller facilities that, because of the war, lost their original conditions, had to relocate in an emergency, or are dealing with serious operational problems while caring for abandoned animals. There are many such places in the affected areas.

How we help

We organise the help from the Czech Republic, but we provide it as much as possible directly where it is needed. In practice this mainly means local purchases of food, medicines and other necessary supplies according to the current situation.

In addition to financial and material help, we also provide remote support whenever possible. We help find practical solutions, look for suitable equipment or suppliers, and bring in expert input where a current problem needs to be resolved quickly.

We publicly share only such information and summaries that are safe and make sense. Detailed accounting, contractual and audit records are kept internally to the extent required by rules and oversight.

  • We direct donations according to current priorities
  • We buy as locally as possible
  • We continuously check the help within available means
  • We publicly share appropriate summaries (without unnecessary sensitive details)
Why we help locally

Why we help locally

A local purchase often means a faster reaction, lower transport costs and greater flexibility when needs change from day to day.
